Amman: The Jordan Arab Media Festival continued its sessions on Saturday, under the theme “Supporting Palestine,” focusing on the role of Jordan and Arab and Islamic institutions in supporting the Palestinian cause.
According to Jordan News Agency, the sessions were attended by Arabs, Jordanians, and representatives from various media and art institutions. The discussions addressed the role of media institutions in shaping public opinion and raising awareness about the Palestinian cause. They also highlighted the challenges faced by Palestinian journalists and media professionals, as well as the influence of new media and social media platforms in disseminating information related to the Palestinian issue.
Furthermore, the sessions explored the responsibility of media institutions in providing fair and transparent coverage of events in Palestine. Participants presented perspectives on the media’s role in supporting the Palestinian cause and discussed how the arts can be used as a tool for activism and awar
eness. The role of Arab journalism in enhancing support for Palestine was also a focal point of the discussions.
The festival’s sessions addressed key challenges facing Palestine, including discriminatory laws in the occupying state, the plight of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons, and issues concerning Palestinian women. Additionally, the psychological and social challenges faced by Palestinian children under Israeli occupation, as well as the impact of aggression on Gaza’s demographics and economy, were discussed.
The final session of the festival focused on cultural and artistic topics that serve the Palestinian cause, showcasing several dramas and documentaries that highlight the ongoing struggles and narratives of the Palestinian people.
