Brussels: Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Zeina Toukan announced that Jordan is preparing to launch a new package of investment projects slated for 2026. Key outcomes of these projects are expected to be revealed at the Jordanian-European Investment Conference, scheduled for April 21-22 at the Dead Sea.
According to Jordan News Agency, during a high-level dialogue session at the European Commission headquarters in Brussels, Toukan emphasized that the initiative is part of a broader effort to deepen Jordan's strategic partnership with the EU. This collaboration builds on a European support package announced earlier in the year.
Toukan mentioned that the partnership is supported by financial backing of up to £3 billion and £1.4 billion in European financing instruments. The goal is to turn these cooperative efforts into tangible economic and development projects.
Preparations for the conference are ongoing in collaboration with the EU, aiming to underscore Jordan's investment benefits, such as its stability, infrastructure, location, and skilled workforce.
The Brussels visit also marked the beginning of a European promotional tour to attract European companies and promote investment in Jordan. This initiative is supported by guarantees, grants, and risk-mitigation tools.
