Amman: Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Huneiti, received Major General Nick Cowley, Commandant of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in the United Kingdom, at the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) on Monday. The meeting focused on expanding military training cooperation between Jordan and the UK.
According to Jordan News Agency, the discussions centered around enhancing military and training cooperation, emphasizing the exchange of expertise, joint training initiatives, and the development of comprehensive training programs, including academic and knowledge-based courses. Major General Huneiti underscored the robust strategic partnership between the two nations, lauding Sandhurst’s pivotal role in preparing Jordanian military personnel. He highlighted the college’s prestigious reputation and its contribution to producing Jordanian officers who have ascended to leadership positions within the JAF.
Major General Cowley expressed admiration for the progress and modernization of the Jordan Armed Forces. He reiterated his dedication to fortifying military cooperation, with a particular focus on specialized academic training and research programs. The meeting was attended by senior officers from both the Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army and the British Defense Attach© in Amman.
