Riyadh: The President of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, Khalil Haj Tawfiq, and Chairman of the Federation of Saudi Chambers, Hassan Alhwaizy, convened in Riyadh to explore strategies for enhancing economic collaboration between Jordan and Saudi Arabia, with a focus on advancing bilateral trade and investment ties.
According to Jordan News Agency, Tawfiq underscored the robust and strategic relationship between the two nations, emphasizing the need for intensified efforts from the private sector to boost trade exchanges and develop strategic partnerships. He highlighted the significant role that chambers of commerce play in deepening economic cooperation amidst global challenges and shifting economic blocs.
As the head of the Jordanian side of the Saudi-Jordanian Joint Business Council, Tawfiq advocated for activating the council’s role and implementing recommendations from its recent meeting in Amman. Alhwaizy expressed the Saudi private sector’s interest in expanding investments in Jordan, noting the Kingdom’s strategic and logistical benefits. Alhwaizy also emphasized the importance of holding Joint Business Council meetings at least twice a year to ensure continuous dialogue, business collaboration, and cross-sector partnerships. Jordan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Haitham Abul Foul, reaffirmed the embassy’s commitment to facilitating Saudi investment in Jordan and praised the productive ties with the Federation of Saudi Chambers.
In a separate meeting, Tawfiq met with Abdullah Obaikan, President of the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce, to discuss strengthening relations between the Amman and Riyadh chambers.
