Jordan and Japan Explore Strengthening Bilateral Relations

Amman: The Lower House’s Foreign Affairs Committee, led by Haitham Ziyadin, met with Japanese Ambassador Asari Hideki to discuss ways to enhance cooperation and strengthen bilateral relations between Jordan and Japan.

According to Jordan News Agency, Ziyadin emphasized that King Abdullah II’s recent visit to Japan signifies a strong Jordanian-Japanese partnership and deep strategic ties. He reiterated Jordan’s commitment to advancing relations in political, economic, and parliamentary fields. Ziyadin noted the strong personal ties between the King of Jordan and the Emperor of Japan as a valuable asset for further boosting bilateral cooperation.

The committee highlighted Jordan’s ongoing diplomatic efforts on the international stage and within the Arab region to achieve a comprehensive and just peace, with a primary focus on establishing an independent Palestinian state. Members of Parliament pointed out the solid investment and development partnership between the two countries, citing Jordan’s leading role in medical and religious tourism and its regional and international influence.

The discussion also included calls for enhanced parliamentary cooperation and the exchange of expertise to broaden joint efforts and reinforce the historical ties between Jordan and Japan.
