Amman: Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi and Indonesia's Foreign Minister, Sugiono, engaged in discussions regarding bilateral ties and regional issues of mutual interest.
According to Jordan News Agency, during a telephone call on Tuesday, Safadi and Sugiono examined the severe consequences of Israel's actions in the occupied West Bank. They urged a halt to these activities. Safadi highlighted the threat posed by Israel's continued escalation against the Palestinian people, increasing violations at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and attempts to change the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem and its holy sites. He warned that these actions are leading the occupied West Bank toward potential violence and are undermining chances for a just and lasting peace.
The ministers also addressed the situation in Gaza, advocating for the implementation of all components of U.S. President Donald Trump's plan to stabilize the region and ensure the provision of adequate humanitarian aid. Furthermore, Safadi and Sugiono reviewed efforts to end regional tensions, emphasizing the importance of enforcing the ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran. They called for a comprehensive agreement to address the underlying causes of tension, ensure freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, and contribute to enduring security and stability in the region.
