Jordan and Indonesia Discuss Potential Investment Ventures

Jakarta: Minister of Investment Dr. Tariq Abu Ghazaleh recently engaged in bilateral discussions with Rosan Roeslani, Minister of Investment and CEO of the Indonesian Sovereign Wealth Fund (Danantara), during His Majesty King Abdullah II’s visit to Indonesia. The talks focused on exploring avenues for enhancing investment cooperation between Jordan and Indonesia, particularly in the sectors of mining, agriculture, and fertilizer manufacturing, while also considering potential institutional partnerships between the Jordanian Investment Fund and the Indonesian Danantara.

According to Jordan News Agency, the discussions in Jakarta underscored Jordan’s stable investment environment, which is bolstered by modern legislation, tax incentives, and a streamlined business setup process. Dr. Abu Ghazaleh highlighted the opportunities available for creating integrated economic partnerships aimed at regional and international markets, especially in the mining, manufacturing, and agriculture sectors and their supply chains.

The meeting also explored ways to strengthen cooperation between the two investment funds, with an agreement to share best practices and knowledge in governance, investment, and project management. The potential for joint economically viable projects was also a key point of discussion.

Rosan Roeslani expressed Indonesia’s interest in expanding investment ties with Jordan, taking advantage of Jordan’s strategic location and supportive business infrastructure. He emphasized Indonesia’s commitment to advancing priority joint projects.

Both ministers agreed on the importance of ongoing coordination and the establishment of direct communication channels between technical teams to identify feasible investment projects. Such initiatives aim to boost economic growth and create sustainable employment opportunities in both countries.
