Jordan and Germany Enhance Defense Collaboration

Amman: Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti received State Secretary at the German Federal Ministry of Defence, Nils Hilmer, and his accompanying delegation Wednesday at the General Command headquarters. The meeting aimed to discuss enhancing military cooperation and coordination to strengthen the partnership between Jordan and Germany, focusing on shared interests, defense capabilities, and regional security and stability.

According to Jordan News Agency, Huneiti and the German delegation were briefed on key security and regional developments. They discussed the tasks carried out by the Jordan Armed Forces - Arab Army (JAF) in dealing with various threats, ensuring the Kingdom's security and sovereignty, and combating smuggling and infiltration. Additionally, the briefing covered the humanitarian operations conducted by the armed forces in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.

Huneiti emphasized the significance of the strategic partnership between Jordan and Germany. He reiterated his commitment to expanding military cooperation and exchanging expertise to strengthen both countries' ability to address shared challenges and enhance regional security.

Hilmer acknowledged Jordan's significant role under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II in promoting regional security and stability. He commended the JAF's efforts in both military and humanitarian sectors and assured Germany's ongoing support for cooperation between the two nations.
