Amman: Minister of Transport Nidal Katamine on Tuesday engaged in discussions with Georgian Ambassador to Jordan Archil Dzuliashvili to explore potential advancements in bilateral cooperation within the transport sector, focusing specifically on aviation and rail transport.
According to Jordan News Agency, Katamine emphasized the longstanding and robust relations between Jordan and Georgia, underscoring the mutual interest in enhancing cooperation in the transport sector. This collaboration aims to bolster economic, touristic, and commercial interactions between the two nations. Katamine also highlighted Jordan's strategic role as a hub for regional logistical connectivity and multimodal transport.
The discussions included the possibility of increasing the frequency of flights between Jordan and Georgia through Royal Jordanian Airlines. This move is anticipated to facilitate travel, tourism, and trade exchanges between the countries. Ambassador Dzuliashvili expressed Georgia's interest in benefiting from Jordan's regional connectivity projects, particularly in rail transport, which could enhance trade and logistics from the Gulf through Jordan, Syria, and Turkiye up to Georgia.
The Georgian Ambassador lauded the quality of the bilateral relations and reiterated Georgia's commitment to expanding cooperation in transport, logistics, and aviation. He acknowledged Jordan's strategic importance as a regional hub, which Georgia aims to leverage in future collaborations.
