Amman: Lower House Speaker Mazen Qadi on Monday engaged with Egyptian Ambassador to Jordan Khaled Abyad to discuss the expansion of parliamentary cooperation and regional affairs.
According to Jordan News Agency, Qadi emphasized the strong ties between Amman and Cairo, underscoring the close coordination between His Majesty King Abdullah II and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. He highlighted the joint efforts aimed at addressing regional issues, particularly advocating for a two-state solution to establish a sovereign Palestinian state.
Qadi proposed intensified collaboration between the two countries' parliaments through the exchange of expertise, reciprocal visits, and coordinated actions at regional and international parliamentary forums. Additionally, he extended an official invitation to his Egyptian counterpart to visit Jordan.
Ambassador Abyad, in response, praised the strategic partnership between Jordan and Egypt, reaffirming Cairo's commitment to strengthening parliamentary, economic, and investment ties with the Kingdom.
