Amman: Minister of Environment Ayman Suleiman on Monday engaged in discussions with Azerbaijan Ambassador to Jordan Shahin Abdullayev to explore avenues for enhancing collaboration in environmental sectors. These efforts aim to bolster sustainable development and tackle mutual environmental challenges.
According to Jordan News Agency, Suleiman emphasized the importance of expanding collaboration with Azerbaijan, drawing from successful experiences in environmental protection, sustainable management of natural resources, climate action, and green economy initiatives. The ministry is committed to establishing effective partnerships with friendly nations, aligning with national priorities and the Economic Modernization Vision.
Suleiman detailed the ministry's key priorities and programs, which focus on pollution reduction, enhanced environmental monitoring, support for sustainability projects, and improved efficiency in environmental management on a national scale. The Azeri ambassador highlighted the strong relations between the two countries and expressed Azerbaijan's interest in deepening cooperation on shared environmental issues, including the exchange of technical expertise and know-how.
Both parties agreed to advance a bilateral memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Environment and relevant Azerbaijani institutions. This agreement aims to create an institutional framework for future cooperation and the development of joint programs and initiatives in the upcoming period.
