Jordan and Albania Strengthen Economic and Defense Cooperation

Amman: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Safadi and Albanian Foreign Minister Igli Hasani discussed expanding economic and defense cooperation in a telephone call on Monday, amid ongoing efforts to de-escalate regional tensions.

According to Jordan News Agency, Safadi congratulated Hasani on his recent appointment and expressed Jordan's commitment to building on the developing relations between the two countries. The ministers reviewed prospects for increased collaboration in economic, cultural, and defense sectors. They highlighted the importance of continued coordination through the "Aqaba Process" initiative. In December, His Majesty King Abdullah II and Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama co-hosted a round of meetings in Jordan focused on international counter-terrorism efforts.

The talks also addressed the latest regional developments. Both ministers emphasized the need for collective efforts to end the current escalation in the Middle East and restore security and stability to the region.
