Amman: Minister of Social Development and Head of the Inter-Ministerial Committee for Women’s Empowerment, Wafa Bani Mustafa, initiated an event focused on enhancing women’s economic participation. The event was organized by the Jordan Europe Business Association (JEBA) in collaboration with UN Women.
According to Jordan News Agency, Bani Mustafa emphasized the importance of the progress achieved in promoting women’s economic involvement. She highlighted that the committee has been working “effectively and seriously” to integrate the women’s sector within the Economic Modernization Vision (EMV). The minister stressed the necessity of investing in women’s energies and capabilities to achieve the desired objectives, acknowledging women as “partners” within the committee’s framework.
Bani Mustafa remarked that Jordan is moving in the “right” direction to strengthen women’s presence and empower them across all fields and sectors. She noted that these efforts have positively influenced the Kingdom’s business index and legal activities, commending the achievements of Jordanian women in terms of their economic participation.
Since the launch of EMV’s multi-priority Women Empowerment Strategy, work is underway to implement its various axes, which present “true” opportunities for women in the digital economy, business, and industrial sectors. Bani Mustafa stated that the activities and operations of Jordan’s public-private partnership should align with the goals of economic and social development to achieve its objectives.
The minister indicated that the partnership serves as a tool for achieving economic stability through the integration of the two sectors, aiming to realize economic and social benefits for the “largest number of beneficiaries.”
