JNRCS launches campaign to perform surgeries to Syrian refugees in Jordan

The Jordan National Red Crescent Society (JNRCS) has kicked off operating surgeries for Syrian refugees in Jordan, with the participation of Kuwaiti specialist doctors, with support of the Kuwait Finance House (KFH), according to a JNRCS statement Thursday.

The campaign, carried out in cooperation with the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS), comes within the tripartite agreement to implement several relief and health projects dedicated to Syrian refugees, the statement added.

The operations will be carried out over two phases, as 90 surgeries will be operated in the first, while the second includes 100, aimed to alleviate suffering of Syrian refugees in Jordan’s camps, villages and cities, the society pointed out.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, JNRCS President, Dr. Mohammad Hadid, lauded KRCS’s support provided over the past years, which is continuing with the aim of alleviating suffering of the most vulnerable groups in society, especially Syrian refugees.

Highlighting services provided to Syrian refugees with the KRCS’s support, Hadid referred to the health clinic dedicated to treating Syrian refugees, especially children and women.

Hadid also referred to other efforts to alleviate refugees’ suffering, mainly distribution of foodstuff parcels and medical kits round the year, lauding all supporters’ continuous efforts and contributions in this regard.

For his part, the Kuwaiti Ambassador to Jordan, Aziz Al-Daihani, thanked the Kingdom’s Jordan for hosting Syrian refugees over the past years, commending JNRCS-KRCS efforts for implementing this humanitarian work, stressing continuity of the Kuwaiti-Jordanian partnership in this field.

Meanwhile, KRCS President, Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer, praised the role of Kuwaiti doctors and their efforts to complete this humanitarian medical campaign, calling on continuing this effort, which contributes to saving lives.
