JMD expects moderate weather in highlands, hot in other regions

Moderate weather conditions are expected to prevail on Tuesday in the highlands and the plains, while it will be relatively hot to hot in other parts of the Kingdom, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update.

On Wednesday, temperatures will drop few degrees, but similar weather will continue to persist in most regions, except in the heights and the plains where mild autumn-like conditions will prevail, with the appearance of low-altitude clouds in the northern and central areas, the JMD added.

As we head into Thursday, the Kingdom will be affected by a wet air mass, pushing mercury levels down and bringing relatively hot conditions in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, while it will be fair in other regions, with low clouds, the meteorologists predicted.

In the late night hours, a chance for light showers of rain is also expected in the northern parts of the country, the JMD further said.

The highs in Amman and other highlands across the Kingdom on Tuesday will range between 29 and 32 degrees Celsius. In the late afternoon and evening hours, cooler weather is forecast as mercury levels slide to around 19C.

In the port city of Aqaba, daytime temperatures will stand at 37C degrees, while lows will slide to 25C at night.
