JHCO, MATW distribute aid parcels to underprivileged households countrywide

The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO) and Muslims Around The World (MATW ), a non-profit organization, have completed implementation of “Food Parcels Distribution 2022” project in a number of the Kingdom’s governorates.

In a statement on Sunday, JHCO said the project targeted 1,000 underprivileged Jordanian families and Palestinian and Syrian refugees.

The statement noted the project, which lasted for two weeks, distributed parcels to beneficiaries in the capital Amman, and governorates of Ajloun, Irbid, Jerash, Karak and Zarqa, which contained 19 basic foodstuff items.

Coordination has been made with social development offices, charities and Department of Palestinian Affairs (DPA) to reach the beneficiaries, the statement said.

Mahmoud Ismail, MATW CEO, said the food parcels project is an extension of JHCO’s initiatives aimed to provide material and in-kind assistance to poor and needy families in their various regions.

MATW provides various aid packages through charitable and seasonal projects, healthcare and orphan sponsorship programs, he said, adding that these JHCO campaigns and initiatives continue throughout the year.

Names of poor and needy families and orphans were selected within approved and accurate data, he noted.

For his part, JHCO Secretary-General, Hussein Shibli, said the organization welcomes new partnerships aimed to raise needy households’ living standards, hailing MATW’s role for its donations, which reduces economic burden on beneficiaries.
