Dead sea: The Jordan Free and Development Zones Group (JFDZG) has announced the launch of a new phase of comprehensive redevelopment for the Dead Sea Tourist Beach, formerly known as Amman Tourist Beach, as part of its strategy to upgrade Jordan's tourism product and enhance the competitiveness of the Dead Sea Development Zone as a global destination.
According to Jordan News Agency, Chairperson of the Group's Board of Directors, Sakher Al-Ajlouni, stated that the initiative aims to strengthen integration between the "Tourist Beach" and the "Corniche" projects, which are considered essential in boosting the area's attractiveness. In this context, the Group has signed a management and operation agreement with FHM, a national company specializing in hotel and restaurant management.
The agreement with FHM will oversee the rehabilitation and operation of the site in line with international standards, preparing it to welcome visitors during the upcoming Eid Al-Fitr holiday and the subsequent tourism season. Al-Ajlouni highlighted that the agreement aims to incorporate modern management methods based on advanced technologies, ensuring compliance with public safety and environmental sustainability standards.
The redevelopment plan for the Tourist Beach, which spans approximately 240 dunums and can accommodate over 4,500 visitors, includes modernizing service facilities, creating shaded seating areas, and introducing hotel and recreational services. Al-Ajlouni emphasized that the project is expected to create direct employment opportunities for the local community and activate corporate social responsibility programs focused on sustainable development.
Reem Sahaouna, Acting Director General of the Development Zones, noted that the new operating contract encompasses responsibilities from daily management and operations to marketing and digital promotion. She stressed the goal of ensuring consistent operational quality and providing services that align with the Dead Sea's status as a unique global tourist destination.
The upgraded Tourist Beach is anticipated to significantly contribute to Jordan's tourism investment landscape, reflecting JFDZG's commitment to supporting the national economy and stimulating business in development zones.
