JFDZ Pledges Continued Support for Porto Dead Sea Project Through 2033

Baku:The Jordan Free and Development Zones Group (JFDZ) is committed to advancing the "Porto Dead Sea" project, with efforts underway to overcome previous developmental challenges and ensure the project's completion by 2033. This initiative aims to enhance the investment climate within the Dead Sea Development Zone.

According to Jordan News Agency, Sakhr Al-Ajlouni, Chairman of the Board of Directors of JFDZ, outlined the group's contractual arrangements with the investing company, which include precise timelines for development. An amended agreement annex signed in December 2024 provides a framework for developing beachfront and mountainous land parcels, alongside procedures for transferring title deeds under established legal and contractual conditions.

The project's first phase, covering 9 dunums, is fully completed and includes 151 hotel apartments, a reception area, banquet hall, administration offices, a tourist restaurant, and commercial shops. Additionally, it has 11 more hotel apartments, two swimming pools, and a fully equipped beach. The second phase, planned for completion by the end of 2027, covers 5 dunums and will introduce 117 hotel apartments, 12 cabanas, and two hotel buildings (B and C) with 69 guest rooms, a restaurant, and a cafe.

The third phase, occupying 6 dunums, is expected to finish by the end of 2028. It will feature 147 hotel apartments, 12 cabanas, and two hotel buildings (D and E) with around 58 guest rooms, as well as 20 commercial shops. Al-Ajlouni emphasized ongoing coordination with authorities to ensure all procedural requirements, including property transfers for buyers, are met in accordance with relevant legislation.

Al-Ajlouni highlighted that adhering to the project schedule will diversify tourism offerings in the Dead Sea Development Zone, boosting its attractiveness for tourism and real estate investments. This will stimulate the hospitality and service sectors, create various job opportunities, and bolster regional economic and tourism development.

Ayman bin Mukhtar Khalifa, Chairman of Porto Dead Sea and CEO of Arab Developers Holding Group, confirmed the progress of project development according to timelines, reinforcing the Dead Sea Development Zone's status as a prime destination for tourism and investment. Early buyers of units from the first phase will receive their registration deeds soon, finalizing title registrations.

The project is divided into two main plots a beachfront plot of approximately 19.5 dunums with hotel apartments, tourism, commercial, and service facilities, and a mountainous plot of 786 dunums with plans for villas, serviced apartments, a 200-room four-star hotel, recreational and commercial facilities, and green spaces. Development on the beachfront plot is about 45 percent complete, with full completion by 2028, while work on the mountainous plot is set to begin at the end of 2028 and finish by 2033.

Khalifa detailed that the mountainous plot will feature luxury tourist villas with private pools, residential apartments, a hotel, restaurants, cafes, a health and fitness club, a water park, shared sports fields, and landscaped areas. This comprehensive resort layout aims to enhance the Dead Sea's tourism appeal and attract more visitors and investors.
