JFDA partakes in Africa Health ExCon 2022 in Egypt

The Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) on Sunday partook in the first African Medical Exhibition and Conference “Africa Health ExCon” 2022, which kicked off in Cairo under the patronage of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

JFDA Director-General, Nizar Mheidat, gave a briefing on the JFDA, included its leading role, its supervisory tasks and its achievements during the last period, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, which had a direct impact on the pharmaceutical and food sectors, in terms of promoting and developing the Jordanian pharmaceutical industry, the manufacture of masks and medical devices and the promotion of its exports, which contributed to facing the pandemic and mitigating its impacts.

The conference, organized by the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, Medical Supply and Technology Management (UPA), is held with the participation of 2,000 members of delegations representing government health and medical authorities, as well as leading figures and leaders in the industrial sector at African and Middle East levels, from more than 102 countries.

The three-day conference will discuss a number of important aspects in the medical sector, most notably: ways to develop medical services and health care, access to safe, effective, and high-quality essential medicines and vaccines at acceptable prices for all, in addition to localizing the pharmaceutical industry and promoting more investments to develop the health sector.
