JFDA Launches Trial of 35 Online Regulatory Services

Amman:The Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) has initiated a trial of 35 electronic services, transitioning a wide array of regulatory processes for food, pharmaceutical, and medical businesses to a digital platform.

According to Jordan News Agency, this initiative, carried out with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, aims to fully automate JFDA services. The trial phase allows businesses to test the system and report any issues before its full-scale implementation.

JFDA Director General Rana Obeidat highlighted that digitizing these services is intended to simplify procedures, reduce processing times, and enhance accessibility for businesses in the food, pharmaceutical, and medical sectors. This move is also expected to improve the business environment and support economic activities.

The trial covers services across various directorates: 14 for the Drug Directorate, nine for the Food Directorate, and eight services for the Regions Directorate, initially tested at the Amman office. Additionally, two services focus on medical devices, supplies, and cosmetics, while another two are general services.

During the trial, users can complete procedures on the platform and provide feedback, allowing JFDA to identify and address any technical or procedural issues. Businesses must create an electronic establishment account to access the platform. Food-sector users are required to register their facilities via the “Food Facility Registration” service to access Food Directorate services.

JFDA has provided user manuals and instructional videos to assist applicants with the electronic procedures. It also emphasized that service fees must be paid within 72 hours of application submission to avoid automatic cancellation.

Feedback and inquiries regarding the trial services can be sent to the JFDA’s designated email address, [email protected], or directed to its Information Technology Unit.
