JEDCO Workshop Introduces Export Support Program for Jordanian SMEs

Amman:The Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation (JEDCO), in collaboration with Jordan Exports, conducted a workshop to unveil its "From Local to Global" program. This initiative is designed to prepare 100 Jordanian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) for exporting, providing technical and financial support of up to JD40,000 per company.

According to Jordan News Agency, the workshop was aimed at industrial and service companies that have not previously engaged in exporting. It detailed the program's objectives, eligibility criteria, and the mechanisms available to access support for entering international markets.

JEDCO Executive Director Ghaleb Hijazi highlighted that entering foreign markets necessitates a comprehensive understanding of market requirements, product development, and the enhancement of technical, marketing, and management capabilities. He stressed the need for establishing export plans tailored to specific target markets.

The program is divided into two phases. The initial phase involves assessing export readiness, conducting preliminary studies, and developing export plans. The subsequent phase focuses on supporting the implementation of these plans in target markets. Companies participating in the program may receive up to JD40,000 in direct technical and financial assistance, contingent upon meeting program requirements.

Hijazi underscored the significance of collaboration between public institutions and the private sector to expand Jordanian exports. He noted that Jordan Exports, as the program's implementing partner, offers specialized expertise and services to assist companies in meeting international market standards. Additionally, he mentioned that broadening access to regional and international markets could enhance the competitiveness and sustainable growth of Jordanian businesses.
