Amman: The Jordan Customs Department (JCD) has reiterated warnings to service recipients and citizens about fake online auction pages promoted through fraudulent links on social media and other electronic platforms. These links are designed to scam citizens and steal their personal data.
According to Jordan News Agency, the JCD urged citizens to ignore such pages and links and to rely on official news from its verified website and social media accounts. The department emphasized the importance of verifying the authenticity of links, information, and sources to avoid falling victim to fraudulent pages, fake links, or impersonators claiming to represent the JCD.
The JCD called on all citizens to refrain from interacting with these fake pages or providing personal information, warning against following instructions from such impersonators to avoid being scammed or subjected to cyber theft.
It clarified that all its electronic services are detailed on its official website and do not require the submission of s
uch personal information. It also noted that it has alerted the relevant authorities to take legal action against the perpetrators and promoters of these fraudulent pages, with the intention of bringing them to justice.
