Amman: Director General of the Jordanian Cooperative Corporation (JCC), Abdul Fattah Shalabi, met with a delegation from the Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) to discuss strengthening joint partnerships in the fertilizer sector. The discussions focused on supporting the Jordanian cooperative sector, especially agricultural cooperatives, through the provision of nitrogenous, phosphate, and IFFCO-produced nano-fertilizers.
According to Jordan News Agency, both parties emphasized the importance of enhancing joint cooperation to benefit cooperatives in Jordan by exchanging expertise and learning from each other’s experiences. They also explored the possibility of formalizing various forms of cooperation by signing a memorandum of understanding in the future.
Shalabi expressed that Jordan offers numerous opportunities for strengthening partnerships and investment across different fields and resources. He underscored the importance of maintaining constructive communication. He also highlighted that IFFCO serves as a model of developmental cooperation in the global cooperative movement, representing 35,000 Indian cooperatives and serving 55 million members.
Dr. U.S. Awasthi, head of the IFFCO delegation, emphasized the need for continuous mutual communication to enhance bilateral relations and benefit the cooperative sectors in both countries. He praised the achievements of the JCC in cooperative work and acknowledged the progress made by the Jordanian cooperative movement. Awasthi also expressed IFFCO’s willingness to host JCC staff to share knowledge on training and investment in the cooperative sector.
