Amman: Twenty-two missiles were launched from Iran towards Jordanian territory in the fourth week of the ongoing war in the region, the Jordan Armed Forces - Arab Army (JAF) stated on Saturday. In a joint statement with the Public Security Directorate, the Military Media Directorate detailed that the Royal Jordanian Air Force successfully intercepted and destroyed most of the missiles, but two managed to fall in the eastern part of the country.
According to Jordan News Agency, Jordanian territory has been a target since the war began, with 262 missiles and drones directed at the Kingdom, aimed at vital sites. The Royal Jordanian Air Force has intercepted and neutralized 242 of these threats, with 20 evading interception. JAF has emphasized its unwavering commitment to protecting the nation's security, ensuring citizen safety, and securing the Kingdom's borders against any incursions.
The media spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate highlighted that last week, the Engineering Corps of the Armed Forces, Civil Defense, and police managed 64 incidents involving falling missiles and debris across the Kingdom's governorates. During these operations, one personnel member sustained moderate injuries and is currently under treatment, while material damage occurred in several areas.
Since the conflict began, there have been 478 reports of projectiles and debris falling, with 25 injuries recorded. All injured individuals have been discharged except for the latest victim. Material damage has affected 25 vehicles, 55 homes and shops, and 14 public properties.
The Public Security spokesperson reiterated warnings against approaching or tampering with suspicious objects or debris, urging citizens and residents to follow official instructions. The public is advised to report any suspicious items to security authorities and to contact emergency services by calling 911. The spokesperson stressed the importance of relying on official information and avoiding rumors and misinformation.
