Amman: The Jordanian-American Business Council (JABC) has announced its support for the Cabinet’s recent approval of a 2025 direct cash-support grant agreement with the United States, which is valued at USD 845 million.
According to Jordan News Agency, Deputy Chairman of the Council, Dr. Tayseer Younes, remarked that the decision highlights the ongoing strategic partnership between Jordan and the United States and underscores the international confidence that Jordan enjoys. This is particularly significant given Jordan’s balanced regional role under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II.
Dr. Younes pointed out that the U.S. grant acknowledges Jordan’s central role in regional stability and the country’s ongoing efforts in economic reform and trade openness. The support is seen as more than just a financial contribution; it also presents opportunities to enhance economic and investment cooperation between the two countries. This includes strengthening private-sector engagement through potential joint projects that align with shared strategic interests.
He further emphasized that the consistent flow of such support is vital for enhancing Jordan’s national economy, steering it towards sustainable growth, and reinforcing its position as a reliable international partner capable of maintaining its regional and global role effectively.
The Cabinet’s approval of the annual grant agreement during its session yesterday confirms the transfer of USD 845 million in direct support to Jordan’s Treasury for the fiscal year 2025. This grant continues the longstanding strategic relationship between Jordan and the United States and reflects the respect Washington accords to Jordanian leadership.
