Istitieh, Al Marri discuss increasing employment opportunities for Jordanians in Qatar

Minister of Labor Nayef Istitieh and his Qatari counterpart, Dr. Ali bin Saeed bin Smaikh Al Marri, on Thursday discussed key files related to the two countrties’ labor affairs.

During the talks held in Amman, the two ministers affirmed pride in the level of “deep-rooted” Jordanian-Qatari relations, under the two countries’ leaderships.

Istitieh and Al-Marri, in the presence of the Qatari ambassador to Jordan, Sheikh Saud bin Nasser bin Jassim Al Thani, stressed the need to enhance cooperation aspects and exchange of expertise in labor files.

Istitieh said talks dealt with increasing employment opportunities for Jordanians in Qatar, which came at the initiative of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar, to benefit from Jordanian competencies in the Qatari labor market, according to a labor ministry statement.

Expressing appreciation for His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and efforts of Qatari Ministry of Labor, Istitieh stressed the need to exchange expertise to develop mechanisms for regulating the labor market, benefit from technological development and providing skilled and trained young workers in various fields.

The Qatari minister, for his part, affirmed his pride in the “close, brotherly” bilateral relations in various fields of joint cooperation.

Al Marri said his visit to Jordan comes to discuss opening “new” cooperation horizons between the two countries, in implementation of the two countries’ leaderships’ directives to serve common interests.

Lauding Jordanian competencies working in the region and the Qatari market, Al Marri voiced Qatar’s readiness to benefit from this skilled workforce.

Al Marri also noted his Amman visit comes in the context of the joint “fruitful” cooperation, in accordance with the agreement signed between the two countries on recruiting Jordanian workers and memorandum of joint technical cooperation.
