Geneva: UNICEF announced on Tuesday that the Israeli military operations in Lebanon had killed at least 200 children in two months. “Despite more than 200 children killed in Lebanon in less than two months, a disconcerting pattern has emerged: their deaths are met with inertia from those able to stop this violence,” UNICEF spokesperson James Elder told journalists in Geneva.
According to Jordan News Agency, Elder emphasized the gravity of the situation by comparing it to the ongoing violence in Gaza, stating, “We must hope humanity never again witnesses the ongoing level of carnage of children in Gaza, though there are chilling similarities for children in Lebanon.” The statement highlights the urgent need for intervention and a call for action to prevent further loss of innocent lives.
