Tel Aviv: Israel’s public broadcaster reported on Monday evening that the Israeli military has received Israeli-American soldier Aidan Alexander, who had been held captive in the Gaza Strip. His release comes amid ongoing efforts to reach a ceasefire and follows direct negotiations between Hamas and the United States.
According to Jordan News Agency, earlier Monday, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) confirmed it had taken custody of Alexander. The Israeli army later cited the ICRC as saying that the soldier is in good health.
