The “Islamic World District” project, one of the most important projects implemented in Madinah as part of the Knowledge Economic City projects, provides quality housing and hospitality services to enrich the religious and cultural experience of visitors and pilgrims during their visit to Madinah.
The project aims to construct the district at the southeastern part of the area adjacent to the Haramain High-Speed Railway Station, where the project has been re-planned over an area of 900,000 square meters in response to the Saudi Vision 2030 programs; Pilgrim Experience Program, which aims to facilitate hosting of pilgrims, facilitate their access to the two holy mosques, and provide high-quality services to visitors and pilgrims, and the Quality of Life Program, which aims to improve the lifestyle of individuals and families.
Key objectives of the project include providing permanent housing, hospitality and lodging services, and various supporting services. The project also includes pedestrian walkways that link all parts of the site, green spaces, event venues, an interactive museum of the Prophet’s biography, and shopping centres with Madinah urban design.
The Islamic World District project is located within the urban area of Madinah, on a direct main line to the Prophet’s Holy Mosque from the eastern side, five kilometres away. It is connected to the Al-Haramain High-Speed Railway Station in the city and the Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport, facilitating pilgrims’ movement between the holy mosques.
The project is a cultural landmark and an investment catalyst that provides Madinah’s residents and visitors with a distinctive lifestyle and integrated services through delivering the project’s main idea of developing a smart city with integrated services within a healthy environment
