Islamic Affairs Ministry Signs MoU with Committee on Religion of Tajikistan

Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh signed a memorandum of understanding in Jeddah today with the Tajikistan Committee on Religion, Regulation of Traditions and Ceremonies. The memorandum was signed on the Tajik side by Chairman of the Committee Sulaymon Davlatzoda.

The memorandum includes enhancing cooperation in promoting the understanding of Islam, highlighting its virtues and tolerance, and addressing contemporary issues through the exchange of research and scientific books in various languages. It also includes organizing joint scientific seminars related to the training of workers in Islamic affairs, exchanging invitations for this purpose, organizing joint exhibitions to introduce Islam, and facilitating the participation of scholars and specialists in Islamic affairs in conferences and seminars held in both countries. Additionally, it includes implementing recommendations from these events, cooperation in the construction and maintenance
of mosques, and the training and qualification of their staff.

The memorandum also stipulates cooperation in the service of the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet through the exchange of expertise and information in the field of printing the Holy Quran and translating its meanings. The ministry will provide the committee with copies of publications from the King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Quran. Furthermore, it includes exchanging invitations to participate in Quran memorization competitions, sharing regulations and guidelines related to such competitions and their criteria, and exchanging expertise and information pertaining to Quran manuscripts and Islamic heritage.
