The Islamic Development Bank Group (IsDB Group) participated on Wednesday in the Annual Meetings of the African Development Bank Group 2024 under the theme 'Africa's Transformation, African Development Bank Group, and Reform of the Global Financial Architecture'. The meetings are taking place at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC) in the capital Nairobi and will continue until May 31, 2024. The opening ceremony was attended by several African heads of state and government, including the President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Akinwumi Adesina; the African Union Commission (AUC) Chairperson, Moussa Faki Mahamat; and the President of the Islamic Development Bank Group (IsDB Group), Dr. Muhammad bin Sulaiman Al Jasser. More than 3,000 delegates from African and international countries also participated. During the meetings on Wednesday, the AfDB Group unveiled its new ten-year strategy for 2024-2033. This strategy is a plan to address the urgent challenges facing Africa and to help the continent return strongly to the path of sustainable economic growth and prosperity. 'As the leading development finance institution in Africa and the bank of solutions in Africa, we fully understand that the next decade will be pivotal in transforming the continent,' the AfDB President said. Therefore, as we celebrate 60 years of making a difference in the countries and lives of African people, we remain committed to accelerating the support we provide to African nations, Adesina stated.
