Irbid: Yarmouk University announced on Sunday that lectures will be held remotely starting Tuesday, August 12, through the end of Wednesday, August 13, due to the kingdom’s ongoing heatwave. According to Jordan News Agency, Mousa Rababa’a, acting president of the university, stated that exams will proceed as scheduled in person, and staff attendance will remain unchanged. He added that the decision aims to protect students’ health and ensure the continuity of the teaching process.

Amman: A majority of Germans support recognizing a Palestinian state.

According to Jordan News Agency, the poll conducted by the Forsa Institute for opinion research found that 54 percent of respondents favor Germany’s recognition of the Palestinian state.

By political affiliation, support was highest among Left Party supporters at 85 percent, followed by 66 percent among Green Party backers and 52 percent among supporters of the Social Democratic Party, a partner in the ruling coalition.

The survey, commissioned by German magazine Internationale Politik, was conducted in late July and polled 1,001 Germans.
