Irbid: Irbid Chamber of Industry (ICI), in cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, has launched the "Income Generation Project - Irbid Governorate," which is part of the Digiskills Association's programs. The initiative aims to qualify and employ youth through specialized training programs in modern digital and technological fields, thereby enhancing their opportunities in the labor market.
According to Jordan News Agency, the project targets 300 young men and women in the initial assessment and testing phases. Out of these, 150 participants will be selected to enroll in a six-week training program. The beneficiaries will then be prepared for employment and connected with suitable job opportunities.
In a statement, ICI Chairman Hani Abu Hassan emphasized the chamber's efforts to develop its digital capabilities and support industrial establishments in enhancing digital transformation. He noted that the digital industry has become a fundamental pillar of the modern economy. The chamber aims to empower youth in the Kingdom's northern region by providing high-quality, modern training opportunities and connecting them with the labor market in the industrial sector and other businesses.
Abu Hassan outlined that the project offers training courses designed to pave the way for trainees to enter the labor market. The initiative seeks to enhance technological skills through advanced tracks, including cybersecurity, digital marketing, ERP systems, and data analysis. These efforts aim to build a strong base of technical expertise to serve the national economy and compete globally.
As for future steps, the chamber is conducting a study to establish a specialized platform based on artificial intelligence to develop the work of industrial sectors in the northern region. The goal is to raise the level of efficiency, competitiveness, and productivity. Abu Hassan affirmed that investment in the digital economy has become a necessity, as empowering youth digitally would position Jordan prominently on the global economic map.
