Amman:Iraqi Embassy in Jordan has announced a new ministerial order from the Iraqi Ministry of Interior, which will allow Jordanian citizens to obtain entry visas upon arrival at Iraq's air and land border crossings.
According to Jordan News Agency, this decision was made after the visit of the Iraqi Prime Minister to Jordan on October 26. It aligns with the Iraqi government's directives to simplify entry procedures for Jordanians traveling to Iraq.
The embassy emphasized that the directive requires directors of Iraqi residency and passport departments at these crossings to issue visas to Jordanians upon arrival, contingent on the payment of the legally prescribed fees, starting November 1. This initiative is part of Iraq's effort to deepen its "deep-rooted, brotherly and historic" relations with Jordan, aiming to expand bilateral cooperation and ease movement between the two nations.
The Embassy expressed optimism that this step would enhance bilateral relations and fortify the "historical and social" connections between the two peoples. The initiative underscores the importance of sustained coordination between the governments to implement measures that facilitate citizen movement and strengthen integration across various sectors.
