Iraq constitutes promising market for Jordanian ICT companies: JCC

Baghdad, Representative of the Information and communications technology (ICT) sector at the Jordan Chamber of Commerce (JCC), Haitham Rawajbeh, said there are promising opportunities for Jordanian companies to leverage in Iraq in light of the country’s drive towards digital transformation.

“Iraqi is a key market for Jordanian ICT companies, especially with the Iraqi government’s drive towards digital transformation, as it has great expertise that qualifies it for this transformation,” Rawajbeh said Fiday in a statment on the sidelines of the Jordanian economic delegation’s current visit to Baghdad.

He pointed out that the Jordanian companies operating in the ICT sector held bilateral meetings with their Iraqi counterparts, to discuss opportunities for joint cooperation, especially in electronic signature, cyber security and artificial intelligence, and building digital capabilities for Iraqi government personnel.

Iraq, according to Rawajbeh, is fully aware of the Jordanian companies capabilities and extensive expertise in the ICT sector, and their role in providing solutions in digital transformation for many countries in the region, especially the Arab Gulf countries.

He indicated that the JCC will work to organize a conference and exhibition in Iraq specialized in the ICT sector, in which companies interested in the Iraqi market will participate, in addition to inviting government institutions to participate in it.

Rawajbeh added that Jordanian companies operating in the ICT sector have come a long way in terms of development and growth and have become supportive of many countries in the region by providing solutions to their various economic and service sectors and today, they export many of their services in software field to many Arab and foreign countries.
