Iran Launches Strikes on U.S. Bases in Middle East Following U.S. Attacks

Tehran: The Iranian armed forces announced early Tuesday their launch of missile and drone strikes on U.S. bases located in Bahrain, Jordan, and Kuwait. These actions were described as retaliatory measures in response to recent U.S. attacks on southern Iran.

According to Nam News Network, the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) issued a statement via its official outlet, Sepah News, detailing that the United States conducted overnight airstrikes targeting coastal facilities and several military sites in southern Iran. These strikes followed what the IRGC referred to as Washington's "defeat" in the Strait of Hormuz on Monday night.

Further elaborating on the events, the IRGC accused the U.S. military of attempting to escort vessels through an "illegal" route in the Strait of Hormuz. It reported that two supertankers, which allegedly deactivated their navigation systems and ignored Iranian warnings, entered a mined route and were struck.

The IRGC reported that its naval and aerospace forces specifically targeted the U.S. military's Juffair base and the U.S. Fifth Fleet headquarters in Bahrain. The attacks focused on weapons depots, fuel storage facilities, communications and radar systems, troop accommodations, and a command center for unmanned surface vessels.

Moreover, ballistic missiles were reportedly launched at U.S. positions at an air base in Jordan, a site used to launch attacks against Iran. Despite these actions, the IRGC stressed that Iran harbors no hostility toward Jordan or its people.

In addition, Iran's army announced targeting a "hostile" U.S. vessel with cruise missiles and conducting drone strikes on U.S. military installations in Kuwait. The strikes hit communications systems, fuel depots, Patriot air defense systems, air traffic control facilities, and an ammunition depot, in retaliation for continued U.S. aggression and attacks on Iranian military sites.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed in a post on X that its forces completed a wave of strikes against Iran at 10:15 p.m. ET on Monday (0215 GMT on Tuesday). The five-hour operation targeted military facilities in Bushehr, Chabahar, Jask, Konarak, Abu Musa, and Bandar Abbas with precision munitions, aimed at degrading Iran's capacity to threaten commercial shipping. This escalation follows Iran's restrictions on shipping through the Strait of Hormuz imposed on Feb. 28, which barred vessels linked to Israel and the United States after their joint strikes on Iranian territory.

This series of confrontations occurs despite a peace memorandum signed on June 18, which anticipated negotiations between the two nations within 60 days toward a final agreement. U.S. media reported Monday that President Donald Trump had formally informed Congress of the resumption of U.S. military operations against Iran.
