Investment Minister Engages with Jordanian-Swedish Business Network to Boost Economic Ties

Amman: Minister of Investment Tariq Abu Ghazaleh met with members of the Jordanian-Swedish Business Network, comprising representatives from various Swedish companies operating in Jordan, alongside Swedish Ambassador to Jordan Maria Sargren. The meeting focused on exploring avenues for expanding investment and strengthening economic cooperation between the two nations.

According to Jordan News Agency, Abu Ghazaleh emphasized the strong relationship between Jordan and Sweden, urging for the development of strategic investment partnerships that benefit both countries. He highlighted Jordan's commitment to cultivating a competitive investment environment, which is bolstered by comprehensive legislative and regulatory frameworks that ease business operations and enhance investor trust.

The minister also pointed out Jordan's significant advantages, such as its political stability, strategic geographical location, extensive network of free trade agreements, and a skilled workforce. These factors, he noted, make Jordan an attractive destination for investment.

Ambassador Sargren advocated for the expansion of partnerships and improved coordination between the public and private sectors, aiming to facilitate investment flows and capitalize on available opportunities. The meeting included representatives from the Swedish Embassy, officials from the Ministry of Investment, and other relevant institutions, as well as private sector stakeholders and Swedish companies with operations in Jordan.

The discussions concentrated on potential growth in the energy, industry, technology, and services sectors, with the goal of strengthening investment ties between Jordan and Sweden.
