Aqaba: The Ministry of Interior announced on Sunday that security authorities successfully thwarted an "illegal organizational activity" conducted by the banned Muslim Brotherhood group in the southern city of Aqaba, resulting in the detention of participants.
According to Jordan News Agency, the Ministry revealed that the activity was orchestrated through a meeting directed by individuals holding senior positions within the prohibited group. The authorities are actively working to identify and apprehend these individuals in compliance with the law.
The Ministry emphasized that the Muslim Brotherhood group remains outlawed, and any organization or participation in activities under its banner is a direct violation of current legislation, with those involved facing legal consequences.
Furthermore, the Ministry reiterated that political engagement is only permissible through officially recognized and licensed political parties, stressing that any actions violating the law will be met with firm measures.
