Amman: Interior Minister Mazen Faraya chaired a meeting of the Higher Committee for Reform and Rehabilitation (HCRR) on Wednesday in the attendance of Public Security Director Major General Obaidullah Maaytah, the secretaries-general of ministries represented on the committee, and relevant officials. The minister stressed coordination among various agencies to secure the necessary resources to implement reform and rehabilitation plans and oversee implementation of the general policy for the treatment, reform, and rehabilitation of inmates under appropriate conditions.
According to Jordan News Agency, the committee tackled various issues related to reform and rehabilitation centers and future plans to develop these centers and monitor improvement of their working environment, in line with national and international standards and requirements.
The director of the Reform and Rehabilitation Centers Department of the Public Security Directorate gave a briefing on the current conditions of the centers and how to address existing challenges.
