Amman: Minister of Culture, Mustafa Rawashdeh, inaugurated the students’ art exhibition of the “Scent of Color” Initiative on Tuesday evening at Darat Suhail in Amman’s Jabal al-Lweibdeh, marking Jordan National Flag Day. The initiative aims to showcase the talents of blind and autistic children, as well as peers with Down syndrome, and integrate these target groups into society.
According to Jordan News Agency, the event, which continues until the end of April, features participating children aged 6 to 18 who have created artworks expressing the symbolism of the Jordanian flag. The initiative is supervised by visual artist Suhail Baqaeen, who, along with his team, is training the beneficiary groups to master diverse color techniques as a daily interactive activity during the exhibition.
In a statement to “Petra,” Baqaeen emphasized that the initiative represents an interactive model for integrating people with special needs into society by discovering the talents of visually impaired children, with a focus on drawing-driven training. Baqaeen noted that the effort seeks to care for people with visual disabilities, allowing them to express their hopes and sentiments, break their fear barriers, and integrate into their communities.
