Amman: The Consumer Protection Directorate (CPD) of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Supply received 1,425 complaints last year, successfully resolving 1,238 of these cases. This resolution rate highlights the ministry's procedures and the speed of response to consumer complaints.
According to Jordan News Agency, the ministry's spokesperson, Yanal Barmawi, stated that efforts in 2025 continue to focus on protecting consumer rights and enhancing confidence in domestic markets. These efforts include developing monitoring and awareness mechanisms and effectively addressing citizens' complaints.
In 2025, the directorate issued 79 notices to service providers who violated regulations, adhering to the Consumer Protection Law. Additionally, a mandatory car warranties platform ensured that 25,700 vehicles were covered and registered, strengthening consumer rights in this sector.
The directorate also held 40 workshops and awareness campaigns targeting consumers and the business sector. These initiatives aim to raise awareness of consumer rights and responsibilities and promote a culture of consumer protection.
These efforts underscore the ministry's commitment to providing a fair and secure market environment, striving to balance the rights of consumers and providers of goods and services.
