Accra:Northern Badia The Ministry of Water and Irrigation intercepted an illegal drilling operation in the Northern Badia region on Tuesday. The rig was caught actively digging an unauthorized well.
According to Jordan News Agency, authorities also addressed illegal water diversions in the Safout area of Ein Al-Basha. Violators were found redirecting water from a natural spring to fill an unauthorized reservoir, subsequently selling the water illegally to local plant nurseries.
The ministry confiscated the drilling rig and equipment, transferring them to the central maintenance workshops. Additionally, crews filled in the unauthorized well, disconnected illegal water supply lines, and documented the infractions.
Legal proceedings are in progress to investigate the violations and ensure accountability for those involved.
