Irbid: Head of Irbid Chamber of Industry (ICI), Hani Abu Hassan, briefed an economic delegation from several Kyrgyz knitwear factories on Irbid’s industrial development, mainly in the garment and textile industry.
According to Jordan News Agency, the visit is part of the “Industrial Tourism” program implemented by the Kyrgyz private sector, aiming to strengthen bilateral economic and trade relations and open new horizons for cooperation in the industrial sector. Abu Hassan highlighted significant opportunities to develop relations, praising the visit as a reflection of the shared desire to enhance economic partnerships.
Abu Hassan emphasized the Kingdom’s advantages, including its strategic geographical location, political and economic stability, and attractive investment environment supported by a network of free trade agreements connecting Jordan to numerous global markets. He also highlighted the diversity of industries in the Irbid governorate, such as pharmaceutical, food, plastics, chemical, and textile industries, which are crucial to the national economy and significantly contribute to Jordanian exports.
The Kyrgyz delegation expressed admiration for the scale of Irbid’s industrial development and the chamber’s role in serving the industrial sector and facilitating the business environment. They expressed hope to transfer Jordan’s experience in supporting industry to Kyrgyzstan and build cooperative relations and partnerships with the Jordanian industrial sector.
The meeting discussed opportunities for joint cooperation between the two countries’ industrialists, emphasizing the importance of exchanging trade delegations, facilitating trade exchanges, and transferring expertise in training and industrial development fields, according to an ICI statement. Both sides agreed to continue coordination to develop feasible initiatives that would support bilateral relations, enhance cooperation in various economic and industrial fields, achieve common interests, and contribute to the two countries’ sustainable growth.
