Amman: Lower House Speaker Ahmad Safadi stated that Jordan is advancing on a path of economic modernization and comprehensive reform aimed at building an integrated national economy capable of competing regionally and internationally, founded on partnership and production.
According to Jordan News Agency, Safadi made these remarks at the Fourth National Economic Forum, titled “Economic Integration: Reality and Ambition,” which was organized by the Yasmin Foundation and attended by ministers, experts, economists, and representatives from both the public and private sectors. “National economic integration is not a luxury, but a strategic choice compelled by the regional and economic reality, requiring redoubled efforts and unified paths among various institutions,” he emphasized.
Safadi affirmed that the Lower House supports any initiative that benefits the economy, improves citizens’ lives, boosts investor confidence, and enhances Jordan’s standing as a stable, attractive, and promising regional hub. He highlighted that His Majesty the King, through the Economic Modernization Vision, has provided a roadmap to guide Jordan in its second centennial toward comprehensive and sustainable economic transformation. This involves accelerating growth, improving quality of life, expanding the middle class, and offering equal opportunities to all Jordanians.
“His Majesty has underlined that this vision transcends governments and is unwavering in its direction, as it stems from a solid national will and the values of the state of institutions,” Safadi added. Regarding the Palestinian issue, he commended the resilience of “our people in Palestine, who faced the vicious war in Gaza, in one of the most brutal moments in modern history.” He noted that the ceasefire in Gaza offers hope for a new path towards restoring the Palestinian people’s right to life and dignity, expressing pride in Jordan’s role in defending the Palestinian cause. Jordan’s efforts include halting aggression, providing relief and medical support to Gaza, and advocating for a just and comprehensive solution based on the two-state solution.
Minister of Investment Tariq Abu-Ghazaleh also addressed the forum, stating that economic integration is the theme of the next phase and the focus of action among all state institutions. He emphasized that integration is not merely a slogan but a working approach based on coordination, expertise exchange, and collaboration between the public and private sectors to achieve sustainable growth across the Kingdom’s governorates.
