House Speaker discusses ties with Spanish, Swedish envoys

Lower House Speaker, Lawyer Abdel Moneim Awdat, discussed separately on Wednesday with ambassadors of Spain, Aranzazo Banon Davalos and Sweden, Alexandra Rydmark, ways to enhance joint parliamentary relations and develop cooperation mechanisms in all fields.

In his meeting with the Spanish envoy, Awdat said the close relations between the two countries “always” serve common agenda, which would broaden dialogue prospects and concepts of security and stability in various international issues.

Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, always believes in peace and dialogue as a way out of various crises, Awdat said, adding that the region’s security and stability depend on a comprehensive solution that achieves the Palestinian legitimate rights on their national soil.

The Spanish diplomat, for her part, praised Jordan’s role under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II in seeking to achieve the region’s security and stability, commending the Kingdom’s role in hosting refugees.

The envoy stressed her country’s keenness to support Jordan in various fields, and maintain cooperation and coordination with the Kingdom at various levels in a manner that achieves common interests.

In talks with the Swedish envoy, Awdat stressed the importance of strengthening parliamentary relations between the two countries, as well as bolstering cooperation aspects in the economic, trade and tourism fields.

Awdat reviewed the Kingdom’s efforts in hosting refugees and the humanitarian role it assumes on behalf of the international community, which requires extending support to Jordan to continue its humanitarian endeavor.

Rydmark lauded Jordan’s role led by His Majesty King Abdullah II in the pursuit of stability and security in the region, expressing hope to enhance cooperation prospects with the Kingdom in all fields.
