Amman: Speaker of the House of Representatives Mazen Qadi conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Abdullah II to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev during a meeting in Baku and urged enhancing coordination and cooperation. President Aliyev praised Jordan's role, under the leadership of King Abdullah II, in promoting peace, security, and stability in the region. He discussed the strong ties between Jordan and Azerbaijan, noting his close relationship with His Majesty and the high level of coordination between the two countries across various sectors.
According to Jordan News Agency, Qadi described Jordanian-Azerbaijani relations as a model of "brotherly cooperation" based on mutual respect and shared interests. He said that the Jordanian Parliament is committed to strengthening parliamentary relations, expanding economic and investment cooperation, and increasing the exchange of legislative expertise. The Speaker called for encouraging private-sector partnerships and mutual investments in key sectors, including industry, tourism, food security, and technology.
Qadi is visiting Azerbaijan to participate in the Parliamentary Conference of the Union of Councils of Member States of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), leading a Jordanian parliamentary delegation. During the visit, he is scheduled to meet senior Azerbaijani officials and take part in the conference's 20th session, while delegation members will participate in meetings of several specialised committees.
