Amman: Speaker of Lower House of Representatives, Mazen Qadi, on Wednesday discussed with Yemeni Ambassador, Jalal Ibrahim Faqira, ways to strengthen bilateral relations and prospects for joint cooperation, particularly in the parliamentary field.
According to Jordan News Agency, during a meeting held at the House's headquarters, Qadi stated Jordan and Yemen enjoy "deep-rooted historic" and brotherly relations, calling for enhancing coordination and consultation on shared issues to serve the best interests of both countries and strengthen the course of joint Arab action.
Qadi affirmed Jordan's "unwavering" commitment to all Arab causes, citing the Kingdom's keenness, under His Majesty King Abdullah II's leadership, to support Yemen's security and stability and preserve its unity and sovereignty, which would ultimately lead to a political solution that ends the crisis and fulfills the aspirations of the Yemeni people for security and stability.
For his part, Ambassador Faqira praised Jordan's supportive stances to Yemen on various levels, commending Jordanian efforts in strengthening Arab solidarity and His Majesty's role in this regard. He affirmed his country's keenness to consolidate bilateral relations and expand cooperation, particularly in the economic, cultural, and investment sectors.
Qadi and Faqira called for activating communication channels between the two countries' legislative institutions and exchanging expertise to contribute to strengthening fraternal relations and serving common Arab causes.
