House Speaker and API Director Discuss Collaborative Efforts

Amman: Speaker of Lower House of Parliament Ahmad Safadi met with Director General of the Arab Planning Institute (API), Dr. Abdullah Fahed Shami, at the House’s headquarters to discuss potential cooperation.

According to Jordan News Agency, Safadi expressed his appreciation for the API’s contributions to economic and social development in the Arab region through initiatives like capacity building, research, and institutional support programs. He highlighted the API’s role in fostering entrepreneurship and enhancing the skills of Arab youth. Safadi emphasized that Jordan is aiming for comprehensive national development, and he noted the strong reputation of the Jordanian workforce for their competence and adaptability.

Shami affirmed the API’s commitment to engaging with Arab parliamentary institutions and emphasized the institute’s objective to impart skills to Arab youth across various countries through training programs aligned with international development trends. He commended Jordan’s achievements in education and infrastructure.

The meeting concluded with the signing of a training agreement by the House’s Secretary-General, Awad Ghweiri, and Shami. This agreement aims to train workers of the House’s General Secretariat and leverage the API’s expertise.
