House association, Austrian envoy talk joint cooperation

President of the Jordanian-European Parliamentary Friendship Association, MP Khaldoun Haina, and the Austrian Ambassador to Jordan, Oskar Wustinger, discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations in all fields, especially in parliamentary, economic, commercial and tourism areas.

During a meeting held at the Lowe House on Wednesday, Haina and Wustinger said Jordanian-Austrian relations are “distinguished and historic,” supported by the two countries’ leaders at various levels.

The two officials also stressed the importance of further advancing ties to serve common interests.

The two countries’ positions regarding the Palestinian cause are “identical,” which always called for a two-state solution through launching serious and effective negotiations that lead to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, Haina and Wustinger affirmed.

“There is also an agreement on the importance of Jerusalem for Muslims and Christians as the key to achieving peace in the region,” they added.

Talks also stressed the need to launch joint projects and went over mechanisms of tourism cooperation and food security, and the exchange of expertise and visits.

For their part, the association’s members talked about the mechanisms for promoting parliamentary, economic, investment and tourism ties.
