Hot spell to continue Saturday, tappers off gradually tomorrow-JMD

Temperatures are set to remain above their seasonal averages on Saturday by about 5-7 Celsius degrees, and the weather will be hot in all Kingdom’s regions of the Kingdom, Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its update.

The JMD report also warns of the danger of exposure to direct sunlight, advising the public to avoid leaving children and flammable materials in closed vehicles.

On Sunday, impact of the heat-wave will gradually taper off and a slight drop on temperatures is forecast, but remain higher than their seasonal average by about 4-5C degrees and the weather will be relatively hot in hilltops and blistering in the Kingdom’s remaining regions.

As for Monday, effect of the hot spell subsides in the Kingdom, where another slight drop on mercury is forecast and approximately similar weather will prevail as the day earlier.

Also on Saturday, temperatures are forecast to range between 38C and 22C in Amman, while port city of Aqaba will see a high of a blazing 40C, dipping to 29C during night hours, according to the weather department.
